Spring Rush 2003
Garnering the largest pledge class among the fraternities at Hillsdale, Alpha
Kappa picked up 12 potential brothers on Friday, February 14, 2003. Included
in this group of fine young men are AK's first Founder's legacy (Alex Harner,
son of Mike Harner, '82), as well as members of the football and track teams.
Congrats, guys.

Alpha Kappa Extends Scholarship Streak
For the sixth semester in a row, the brothers of Alpha Kappa stood at the
top of Hillsdale men's academic standings. The chapter was presented with
the Scholarship Cup at the Spring 2003 Convocation. AK's grade average was
3.18, while the all men's average stood at 3.01. Great job, guys!
House Corporation
A new slate of officers and trustees were elected at the annual House Corp.
meeting held during Homecoming weekend in October. Serious discussion about
the renovation of the chapter house and possible future fundraising plans
were the main topics of the meeting. If you weren't able to attend, please
voice your suggestions and opinions to the new officer board. Click here
to visit the House Corp. site.
Our hearty thanks to Tom Kavanagh and Jeff Lovell for their effort and sacrifices
over the past four years.
HOMECOMING
Homecoming 2002 was incredible according to the many brothers who joined
Alpha Kappa October 11-13.
Those in attendance enjoyed a great tailgate with friends and family before
watching the Chargers stomp their opponents in the football game. Afterward,
the traditional pig roast and party followed at the chapter house. Thanks
to the brothers who helped organize this successful event and those who made
the trek to come visit. See you next year!
Derby Days
A grateful thanks to all the women of the sororities at Hillsdale College
for their enthusiastic support of our annual philanthropic fundraiser to benefit
the Children's Miracle Network and St. Jude's Children Hospital. After a week
filled with crazy contests and house spirit, the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority
won the Derby Days Trophy for a second year in a year, and senior Catherine
Hatton was crowned the 2002 Derby Dolly. Our appreciation to Chad Kresnak
for coordinating this year's activities. If you missed out on the awesome
t-shirt from this year, you can still purchase
one at a discount.
Fall Rush 2002 On September 27, 2002, Alpha Kappa picked up four new pledges. Congratulations to Ryan Spencer, Nate Conroy, Andrew Dickerson, and Noah Schellhamer! We are excited to have these incredible prospective members. Best of luck guys for a great pledge semester! |
